Additional data processing outside this website
The automatically generated privacy policy above describes data processing on this website. This section adds information about data processing in our business as a strategy and marketing consultancy, in particular when we conduct studies and surveys. The controller is Academic Alpha AG (Flybridge), Morillonstrasse 43, 3007 Bern, Switzerland, info@flybridge.ch. For your rights and further contact details, see above.
Studies and surveys
We process personal data of participants in surveys, interviews and workshops that we conduct on behalf of our clients or for our own studies. In addition, for some projects we analyse existing data sets lawfully provided to us by clients or data partners; the following information applies accordingly.
What data do we process?
Contact details where needed for the invitation (often provided by the client or a panel provider); your answers and statements in surveys and interviews; for interviews, with your consent, audio and video recordings including transcripts. Depending on the topic of a study, answers may also contain sensitive personal data, for example on health or political views; we only collect such information deliberately with your express consent.
For what purpose do we process the data?
We analyse your answers for research and analysis purposes. Results feed into reports and consulting services for our clients, generally in aggregated or anonymised form, so that no conclusions can be drawn about individual persons. For personalised surveys, such as employee or customer surveys analysed at the level of individual respondents, we inform you before you take part. We do not use participants’ contact details for advertising and do not pass them on for purposes other than research, unless this was announced before data collection and you consented separately. We work according to the ICC/ESOMAR International Code on Market, Opinion and Social Research and Data Analytics. We keep research data as long as needed for the purpose of the study, possible follow-up and comparative studies, and contractual and statutory retention obligations; after that, we delete or anonymise it.
Who do we share the data with?
With the processors engaged for the project: the survey platform, AI services as described in the next section and, where applicable, field and panel partners. We also use standard IT service providers for our operations and collaboration, notably Microsoft 365 for email and file storage, under a data processing agreement. Clients receive results without personal identifiers, unless the survey was announced to you as a personalised survey or you have expressly consented.
How can you prevent this data processing?
Participation is voluntary. You can stop at any time and withdraw consent with effect for the future. Withdrawal does not affect processing carried out up to that point; individual answers can no longer be removed from results that have already been anonymised or aggregated.
Clients and business contacts
To deliver our mandates and maintain business relationships, we process contact and contract data of clients, prospects and partners, namely name, role, company, contact details, correspondence, and project and invoicing information. We store this data in our CRM system (Exxas) and in Microsoft 365; the providers process it under a data processing agreement.
AI-supported data processing
For some steps of our work we use AI services, for example to transcribe interviews and dictation, to classify open-ended answers, to support statistical analyses (for example by drafting analysis scripts and interpreting results) and to draft texts and analyses. We also use AI features in design and office tools; no personal data is processed there.
What data do we process?
Project documents and research data as far as needed for the step in question; where possible pseudonymised or without direct identifiers.
For what purpose do we process the data?
To support our research and consulting services. Results are reviewed by our professionals; we remain responsible for all analyses and reports.
Who do we share the data with?
We process personal data and confidential project data only with AI services whose providers commit in a data processing agreement not to use the data for their own purposes or to train their models, in particular business and API versions from Anthropic, Google, OpenAI and Microsoft. Processing may take place in the USA; the section on disclosure abroad and the following section apply.
How can you prevent this data processing?
If you do not want your answers to be processed with AI tools, let us know; we will then look into processing without AI services, or you can choose not to take part.
Addition on disclosure abroad
For providers based in the USA, we rely on their certification under the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which the Swiss Federal Council has recognised as providing an adequate level of dataprotection. Where a provider is not certified, we conclude the standard contractual clauses and take additional safeguards where necessary.
